The Baden Storytellers’ Guild in Waterloo is dedicated to nurturing and sustaining the development of emerging and established storytellers. The Guild seeks to promote excellence in our art, deepen our understanding of Story, and develop in the general public an awareness of and appreciation for storytelling, both in daily life and as a performance art.
CAFE 1842 – INFORMAL WRITING GROUP
We are an informal writing group that meets at Cafe 1842 (59 King St N, Waterloo) on Monday evenings from 7-9 pm. Everyone is welcome! You’ll find us grouped in the middle of the cafe.

Cambridge Authors is a positive space for serious writers who want to connect with other writers who have similar goals and objectives. Members of Cambridge Authors are invited to attend monthly meetings, either via video conference or face-to-face, that take place the first Tuesday of every month from 7-9pm. They are also welcome to join the private Facebook group where members are free to share positive and helpful stories and advice.

The Cambridge Writers Collective (CWC) invites writers of all levels of experience to join us as we share our passion for the written word, our experience, and knowledge of the craft through critiquing and networking.
Do you have a story to tell? Have you thought about getting it down on paper? Join us for thoughtful discussion and a weekly time to work toward getting your story written. This group is for all levels of writing ability in any genre.
National Novel Writing Month is an annual Internet-based creative writing project that takes place during the month of November. Participants attempt to write a 50,000-word manuscript between November 1 and November 30. Well-known authors write “pep-talks” to keep them motivated throughout the process.
The regional group will be writing together through April using this chat forum. If you have a NaNoWriMo account and would like to join us, please contact the ML. All we need is your NaNoWriMo username to add you to the group. This forum is for Region of Waterloo writers only, but anyone with a NaNoWriMo profile can create their own group.
All local writers of all levels from professional to “I’ve always wanted to write” are welcome to join us on the third Thursday of the month at Seven Shores from four until six p.m. You can write, socialize with other writers, drink good coffee and eat snacks, or any combination.
